Describe yourselves. (luke) Single. (josh) Except Fabian. (olly) Lets get Cam then. (mike) Nah Cam will get a girl straight away; he’s too good looking. (olly) Heavy, (josh) unhygienic, (mike) fun, having a good time. (olly) We’re just two thumbs up. (josh) One of us has a real job. (luke) Straight hard nut cunts.
Describe your style as a band. (olly) Heavy. (luke) Hard nuts on the snare and gain.
What’s the story behind your band? (josh) Olly and Luke wanted to start a hardcore band, and they asked Mike and me, and Dion, (olly) because he could drum, but now we have a better drummer. (josh) Thanks Olly. (luke) We wanted to be stompy. (mike) They want both sides of the story of how the bands started. My side was… before I went to America… I’m just trying to remember… (olly) When you got back from America all those girls killed themselves and you were like ‘bro we need to do something’. (luke) I asked you before you went to America and we waited for you to get back, and Josh wrote all those songs on his computer. (josh) How shitty were they. (mike) We had a shit crew and I wanted something that would bring a crew together like cold willy did, and when I was in America I saw Set Your Goals and that kind of stuff so I wanted a really posi-pop-punky thing. (luke) That was never the plan. (mike) I got back and Palmy was really depressing, I was like ‘we need to do something positive to bring young people together’. (luke) What bought us together was baby death. (mike) But it has turned out that way; we’ve got a mean crew together now.
Inspiration/ influences? (josh) Its completely different for everyone. (luke) Originally it was more Come Back Kid kind of stuff but now, (olly) now it’s more like American Nightmare. (josh) Not even, when I try and write stuff I think of the dirtiness, but I’m not really a dirty guy so I just think of Luke. (mike) Lets Luke it up a bit. (luke) Just something hard nuts on the snare. (mike) That’s what I think, what would Luke like.
What makes you unique? (Olly) Nothing. (luke) We just rip off everything. (josh) I don’t play a double kick. (luke) I don’t have a high E, doesn’t matter. (mike) He never even uses it (josh) We’re not Van Halen. (olly) What do you think is unique about us? (mike) We’re all good looking.
What are you working on right now? (mike) A cd! (josh) Our full length. (luke) We only have three or four songs to go now. (mike) We’re going to have ten. (olly) We need an intro.
What’s it all about? (olly) I don’t know, I just yell into a microphone. (luke) The next song we’re writing is about the Turbo’s. (mike) Yea mate.
Plans for the future? (mike) To get married. (luke) Full length. (olly) Hit up Australia and Europe. (mike) Nah I cant see myself settling down yet. (olly) You said you were scared to get a girl friend because they’d want to marry you. (luke) I wouldn’t worry about that Mike. (mike) I can’t imagine getting home from work and being like ‘hey honey’ because I just want to see my friends you know. I want to do what I want.
Do you have any advice for those wanting to follow in your footsteps? (olly) Don’t do it how we’ve done it. (josh) There are not many footsteps to follow. (luke) Finish school.
